Enjoy every minute of the 2022 Christmas season when you bundle up and head out to these local events.

1. Lights of Ennis Parade, Block Party and Holiday Market

December 1, 2022

The Holiday season officially begins in Ennis, Texas with a Christmas parade and block party downtown.

The 2022 schedule of events:

5:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Open House at the Ennis Railroad and Cultural Heritage Museum, 105 N.E. Main Street.

Refreshments, model train and Frosty the Snowman photos from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Christmas Bluebonnet Market on North Dallas Street.

5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Children’s Christmas crafts at the Welcome Center at 201 N.W. Main Street.

5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Train Display at the Welcome Center at 201 N.W. Main Street.

5:30 p.m. -6:00 p.m.
Ennis Jr. High Band Ensemble performs at 108 West Knox Street.

6:00 p.m.
Nutcracker Short and Suite performed by Avante Guarde at Minnie McDowal Park.

5:30 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Santa Claus will be at the Ennis Welcome Center. A photographer will be available for free family photos.

7:00 p.m.
Christmas Parade of Lights

7:45 p.m.
The Nativity performed by GO! Dance & Gymnastics Studio at Minnie McDowal Park.

There will also be photo opportunities with Mrs. Claus, Santa Claus, a Toy Soldier, a Sugar Plum Fairy and the Grinch. Food trucks will be stationed on N Dallas Street. on Thursday, December 1, 2022 starting at 5:30 p.m.

2. Cookies with Mrs. Claus and the Story Lady

December 3, 2022
Sessions begin at 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Your child will experience a magical Christmas season with Mrs. Claus and The Story Lady. Children will be greeted by their host, Mrs. Claus and decorate a gingerbread train with plenty of candy adornment options.

Them the Story Lady will host an interactive Polar Express sing-along, dance and story-time. Adorable photo ops abound, and each child will be given a special Polar Express bell. Children can dress in pajamas.

Tickets are $35 per child and available for purchase online.
Seating for adults will be limited.

3. Downtown Roller Skating

December 9, 2022: 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 pm.
December 10, 2022: 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
December 11, 2022: 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Downtown Ennis will host an outdoor roller skating rink for a weekend, so grab your skates and a friend for this Ennis holiday tradition. There will be an extremely limited number of skates available, so you’ll need to bring your own to make sure that you’ll be equipped.

4. Snow Tubing

December 16, 2022: 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 pm.
December 17, 2022: 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 pm.
December 18, 2022: 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

There will be snow this Christmas season in Ennis, at least downtown, even if someone has to make it from scratch so you can have fun tubing down one of the three snow hills that will be set up no matter how warm it is outside.
