The City of Ennis also seeks coaches and volunteers for the 2024 girls volleyball season.
The 2024 City of Ennis Youth Girls Volleyball League is now taking sign ups, and organizers are looking for coaches and volunteers for the season, too.
From now until March 4, 2024, girls attending schools in the Ennis I.S.D. area who are in grades 3-8 may be signed up for 2024 girls volleyball season that takes place from March 11, 2024 – May 11, 2024. Home schooled girls in live in the school district are also eligible.
The cost for participating in the season is $80 per player and siblings may be signed up at a $10 discount. For the fee, participants receive a jersey, may participate in a minimum of seven regular season matches and a postseason tournament, and may receive a trophy or medal if won.
All games will be played on Saturdays at B.F. Thomas Gymnasium at the Alamo Middle School and at Lummus Intermediate School.
City organizers are also calling on adults to volunteer as coaches and general helpers, too. Anyone who wishes to volunteer may contact City of Ennis Recreation Manager Mike Richardson at his email address: mirichardson@ennistx.gov.
The league will be divided into three divisions: a 3rd grade – 4th grade division, a 5th grade – 6th grade division, and a 7th grade – 8th grade division.
Player assessments will be held March 5 – 6, 2024. Teams will begin to practice on March 11, 2024, and games will begin on March 23, 2024. The postseason tournament will be held on May 11, 2024.
